Gombe Students’ Transformed Learning Journey: Annual Trip Unveils Practical Insights By NITT

The Gombe liaison office of the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology in Zaria recently organized a three-day annual trip for students at the Kumo campus. Reporting from the venue, Abdullahi Salisu Nagodi shares insights into the significantf events.
During the initial stages, Program Coordinator Abdullahi Bappa highlighted the trip’s importance, emphasizing its role in providing practical knowledge to students. He explained the alarming traffic congestion in Gombe North, emphasizing the trip’s value in enhancing students’ understanding of traffic operations and management on highways.
At Gombe State Airport, Chief Dakup Goladi from the Fire Safety Department underscored the interconnectedness of various airport departments. Deputy Governor Manasah Daniel Jatau praised the Institute for establishing a liaison office at Gombe State International Airport, envisioning a cargo airport in Gombe to complement the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park.
Former FCT Minister Aliyu Umar Modibbo expressed appreciation for the Institute’s annual event, pledging support for its development. The delegation also visited the Dadin Kowa water treatment plant, where students gained practical knowledge on water filtration and treatment using different chemicals to benefit the people of Gombe state.
The tour extended to the Nigerian Railway Cooperation in Gombe, where Mr. Shimba Banjement, the Chief Station Master, discussed revenue generation and development opportunities for the state and country. He urged the government to enhance the station’s functionality.
The event’s highlights included visits to Gombe International Airport, Federal Road Safety Corp, Nigerian Flour Mills, Solos Complex, Dadin Kowa Water Treatment Plant, and Nigerian Railway Cooperation Gombe. Headed by Abubakar Sadiq Ahmad, the Head of the Liaison Office in Gombe, the delegation included various staff members.
